I originally had genuine Windows 8 64bit version on my desktop. Then I installed the Windows 8.1 Pro Preview version. Now I am unable to upgrade to the full windows 8.1 version. I tried reverting back to Windows 8 but that didnt work either. Even when I try to install from windows 8 installation disk, it failed and went back to Windows 8.1 Preview. Can I get help? Thanks a lot.

its not possible as far as i have read to upgrade from preview but you should be able to do clean install of 8 then use the free upgrade from store
I tried to recover to Windows 8 from Settings but it kept asking me to install the installation disk for some missing files. However when I load the Win8 installation disk, it does not detect it. So I tried installing Win8 directly with option to save personal files, but that did not work either. At the end it complained that it is unable to install on current OS and reverted to Win 8.1 Preview version. Looks like I am stuck.

you have to do a clean install/ Factory image that means removing all the data and formatting the HDD you can choose boot from DVD and then do a clean install also if you have win8 dvd
