The make, model and output of your power supply is needed.

You didn't actually look at his budget did you? He's not even close to affording any of those. Besides, Goblin cards are just not worth it right now. The Rooster has them beat at every price point from the HD 6650 all the way up to the HD 7970.

Right, the GTX 760 2GB costs at least $235 while the HD 7970 3GB which beats the living tar out of it starts at only $15 more and includes three free current games. That GTX 760 isn't looking so good anymore eh? LOL

Now that I'm done dispelling all the BS that has been spouted at you, the best card that you can get within your budget of Rs. 6000 is:
The XFX Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5 at Rs. 5996

There are Radeon HD 6670 2GB cards listed for less but they have much slower DDR3 and the HD 6670 is not powerful enough to use more than 1GB anyway. This card crushes all nVidia opposition at that price point (GT 640) but is still a very weak card, not really suited for gaming. Unless you're desperate, you should consider saving an extra Rs. 950 so that you can get the Radeon HD 6770:

The difference in performance between the HD 6670 and HD 6770 is quite large.

First off, Avro, you should know that prices aren't the same for all locations. Generally speaking, the GTX760 will be much cheaper. In the UK, it's £70 cheaper which is more than 100$. The promotion you speak of is on Newegg, which sells to the US, and ONLY to the US (and Canada too I think?).

Checking in that website you showed, it costs almost 10k more. That's around 45% more. So your point about the HD7970 being a better purchase is invalid everywhere except in the US/Canada. Considering this was referring specifically to a country other than the US, your point is therefore invalid.

Now, onto the price range the buyer actually requested, didn't make the conversion and didn't notice Nol1c was suggesting much more expensive parts. If you are to suggest the 6770, then the 650 is a much better purchase: http://www.flipkart.com/gainward-nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-1-gb-gddr5-graphics-card/p/itmdgszzzq3c5gyg?pid=GRCDGSZADXKZ59WT&otracker=from-search&srno=t_1&query=GTX640&ref=421fa1c0-3165-40ac-9d53-e10802a4cc5f

Benchmarks comparing 650 and 6770: http://www.hwcompare.com/13514/geforce-gtx-650-vs-radeon-hd-6770/

If the limit needs to be 6k, then the HD 6670 is probably the best, considering 500 series from Nvidia are no longer being sold.

And last but not least, I don't like being disrespected, and I'm pretty sure nobody else does. When you're on an online forum if people give suggestions you shouldn't bash them for disagreeing.

Sound like a douche much? AMD cards are not always the best, I sense a hint of bias in your tone...
