Hello.

I bought SSD for my Acer V3-571G. This laptop has Acer VA50_HC_CR motherboard with Intel HM77 (Panther Point) chipset. At first I only swapped HDD and SSD. SSD was working fine. But then I put my HDD in place of CD-ROM. Now, BIOS does not let me choose which device to boot from and boots from HDD. Only workaround I found so far is F12 menu - it allows me to boot from SSD, but settings can't be saved.

[SOLVED]
I solved this problem using Boot-Repair tool, available from Ubuntu community. I booted into my Ubuntu 13.10(on SSD) and used The Tool to reinstall GRUB, specifically only into my SSD disk. The result is that when computer boots, it finds no bootable partitions on HDD(because they were removed by The Tool) so boots from SSD.
