i currently have an old pc and i want to upgrade it to a core i3 4130 and change also the motherboard to a gigabyte GA-B85M-HD3.

this is my old pc specs:
gigabyte g41m-combo
intel core 2 duo e7300
250TB western digital caviar black
4 gb of ram
gt 630

will it give me more fps on gaming?

i also plan on upgrading my GPU next time but i dont know what to buy. i am interested in physx so i am leaning on a NVIDIA card. i want to play bf4 on 720p in HIGH settings because there is no big difference in ultra and high setings. and without or with a low AA. what would be the card that is right for me.? i am trying to save my budget for a hard drive also..thanks for the response..

More about : upgrade core duo

Get an i5 with a better gpu, say 7750,7770 or gtx 650 ti (dependind on your psu).

A CPU alone doesn't effect the fps "much".

You can not play bf4 on high settings or even medium, with a gt 630.

yes, core i3 haswell is far more powerfull than your current cpu..it will give you a very significant fps boost at any game.
Btw, there's no body care about physx anymore..so you can widen your choice to amd and nvidia.

BF4 high setting at 720p? any card from 650Ti boost (nvidia) or 7850(AMD) will do this job for you.
even 7790 or 650Ti is will suffice..

i3 would be just fine.
but a better GPU is a MUST.

BF3 and BF4 are not PhysX titles

There is no PhysX anything in the Battlefield series. All physics, including destructible environments are handled by the CPU. Battlefield 3/4 use the Frostbite engine, which has its own method of performing physics on the CPU, which is unrelated to Nvidia's PhysX. Battlefield 3 is not known for being a CPU intensive game.
