I have recently installed Windows 7 on my Pentium 4 (2.80 Ghz) processor desktop. Everything was fine, until when i installed the sound driver which was AC97 Realtek sound drivers and then computer keeps on restarting, it means whenever i turn up the computer it is ok and when the desktop screen comes up, god knows what happens the very moment my PC restarts and this goes on and on.

Did you install a 64-bit OS with a 32-bit only processor?

Most Pentium 4 (LGA 775) were not 64-bit compatible.

We will need to know your specific processor model and version of Windows 7 to confirm.

Maybe you don't have enough RAM to run Windows 7? Minimum is 2GB

if his processor 32 bit, and he tried to install win 7 64, then windows 7 installer will refuse to install since very first time.
So we can assume the he's using win 7 32bit.

for the op, enter the safe mode, you can press f8 when post screen, then uninstall your sound card driver.
you can use driver sweeper to perform clean uninstall.

then download fresh driver which is supported by your OS.
