I have updated to Windows 8.1 and all the apps that I had installed, needed to be re installed.

Once I started to re install the apps they no longer appeared on the home screen.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Thanks

Solution
On the metro screen in the bottom left there is an arrow pointing downwards. Click that and all the apps and programmes are there. From there, you can right click any app/programme and press 'Pin to Start' which will put it on the Start screen Hope this helps!

Haha thanks, I feel so stupid. Shame it doesn't do it automatically anymore.

Hmm. I did not have to re-install apps but the Chess app (LV 100) simply will not run. It throws up the opening banner and then disappears. I have established that it is still running in the background and yet... nothing.

PS... so far 8.1 is leaps and bounds ahead of Windows 8... just not good enough yet.

I have the same problem but when I click on the arrow on the bottom left, none of my apps are listed there either. The apps have all disappeared.
