My computer came with 5 gigs of ram, 2 sticks that have 1333 ram speed, and 1 stick with 1033 ram speed.

I am pretty sure that since 1 stick speed is lower than the other 2, the ram speed is on the 1333 sticks is lowered to be compatible with the slower stick.

Is it better to have 4 gb 1333 megahertz ram speed or 5 gigs with 1033 megahertz speed?

What is the DRAM running at? Look in CPU-Z, in the memory tab, if showing 533 in the freq pane - then you are at 1066, the odd ball may be OCed, in which case all will be at 1333 (will show as 667 in the freq pane as it's DDR, DOUBLE data rate....if at 1066 can possibly OC all to 1333, what CPU, Mobo and the models of the DRAM
