I am wanting to move to a new build. I have 7 USB 3.0 external drives and i watch mainly .mkv videos in 1080 p .I need at least 10 USB 3.0 ports. I need to use 3 monitors for work . I don't do any gaming so that's not a concern. Does the new Harwell CPU and 1150 MoBo run 3 monitors with the internal GPU? Will i still need to get a separate GPU?
Would an AMD system work for what I want. Would love to do an ITX set up but wondering about add on cards issue

Thanks

You should be able to use any 3 of the 4 adapters.
If some of the monitors do not have suitable connectors, there are adapters.
they are usually not expensive.
Here is a displayport >dvi adapter. (dp is new to me too)

or a hdmi to dvi adapter:

You will usually have the same issue with a discrete graphics card that will include a variety of connections.
Avoid the vga connection since it is less quality.
Haswell will support 3 monitors.
Here are two such itx motherboards:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H87IPLUS/
You will need a variety of connections since each motherboard includes different types.
For the extra usb3.0 ports you need, look at a add in card like this. It will fit in the pcie X16 slot:

If you can use 3(presumably 1080P) monitors, how about 4?
haswell will support 4k resolution.
I have seen a seiki 4k 50" monitor in compusa. It is gorgeous. Consider the value of having as many different sized web pages on one display.

Im sorry I may be a little confused
The MOBO I purchased is the Gigabyte GA-Z877X-UD3H
It has a HDMI / DVI / D-SUB/Display Port on the rear.
So I can just plug in the first 3 into my monitors (I am not familiar with DP) and i can have my 3 monitor set up without a graphics card? or is there something else that is required?
None of my monitors have any jacks that look like the DP jack so that would not be an option. Hope i am not making this more confusing

Thanks
