Overheating Problem With My Computer

I've had this computer and all the good stuff (at least it was good at the time) inside of it for about 4 years now. Around 2 years ago, whenever I'd play any 3D environment game, the screen would go black and I'd get a "no signal" box on my monitor and everything would be silent for a couple of seconds before a demonic and infuriating sound clipping would ensue. To me, these seem like the symptoms of overheating, however I don't know what to do. Should I just upgrade cooling systems? or should I just upgrade all my hardware because I'm falling behind? Attached is the current System Information Log. If you need any more information, please let me know so I can provide it.

Solution
Upgrading is a good option if you have the budget. The CPU seems a little bit old.The RAM,though seems fine, won't be enough for modern upcoming games like Wathdogs and COD Ghosts, which require atleast 6GB. But yours is DDR2,isn't it? So my suggestion is,don't waste bucks upgrading RAM. Upgrade your Mobo and CPU first...Then you can upgrade the RAM.

The sys info says it's 4800 series....Anyway,the black screen issue must be due to the overheating of your Graphics card. So to reduce it,add more cooling to your case. You could also add a fan for VGA cooling,to reduce GPU temperature. Also, you could use some softwares like GPU Tweak,if you have an Asus card,or similar softwares to create a fan profile manually,so that at high temperatures like 60 or 65C,the fan should run at like 60-70%. These can help you deal with overheating of GPU. You don't need to change your whole hardware just because of this.

Update: Anyway, since you said about upgrading, which is your current CPU,MB,RAM,and such other components?

That I told earlier. You could use more case fans to keep things cool. Well,if you intend to get a CPU cooler, don't buy one for the current CPU,as you plan to upgrade it,which means you'll be wasting the money. So,buy the case fans, put them inside the case, and assign one to cool the VGA Card, which will help to reduce its temperatures.

I was considering investing in a water cooling system. How does that sound?

Well, look for the CPU sockets in that case.Your socket is LGA 775. So if you get a water cooler, make sure it's compatible with the next socket type you're about to get,but I'm not sure if you'll get one such.Else, the money will be wasted on that.
