Plantronics GameCom 780 Headset Alternatives?

Hey guys, I have a problem with choosing headsets. I used my Philips SHM1900 for about 6 months now, and I'm not liking it much. The mic has a lot of buzzing (and it very quiet, so I had to amplify the volume of it up to max) and the headphones themselves are quite uncomfortable after wearing them for long periods of time. Because of all this, I have decided to go on a quest and try to find a new headset, and pay a bit more than £13 for it. I found the Plantronics Gamecom 780 which is great, as the sound quality is good, it's 7.1 Dolby (what I really like), the mic seems to be good quality (although apparently it picks up clicks of mice and keyboards, which worries me) and overall it's great value for money. Some people do complain about the fact that it's not too durable.

I'm mainly going to use my headset for gaming.

My question for you guys is to help me find a alternative to this headset, if any, or tell me if I should go ahead and buy it. I found these other headphones, but they don't seems to be as good as the 780:
Steelseries Siberia v2
Turtle Beach X12
Tritton Kunai

Thanks in advance guys. Any help is appreciated :D

I've never used the mic, so I can't tell you anything about it, but headphone itself is great for sure. 7.1 is very effective. Even my wife sometimes uses it without any complaint for watching movies while baby is sleeping. If you want a really tight headphone that can block sound from and to the phone, this is not for you. Even with lower volume setting, my wife could hear me shooting on BF3 when we had PC in our bedroom. This could be a good thing for her, however, because she could also hear when baby would wake up and cry.

Awesome, thanks ;) I don't mind the headphones not blocking out everything. Going to buy the headphones soon. Thanks for a quick reply!
