For gaming you can save some money by going with the i5, but if you have the money and want piece of mind for future titles that are coming from the consoles the hyper threading of the i7 might come in handy.

You only need 8GB of RAM, you also don't need a 1000W PSU. If you plan on getting a second 780 in the future you would be fine with something like a 800-850W PSU, if you don't plan on a second one you would be fine with something like a 650W.

I don't know what your budget is but I recommend getting at least a 120GB SSD for the OS and other programs.
