how to format window 7 on laptop hp and what kinds of cd need for formatting ?

on the newer laptops there a restore software on a hidden partion. on most laptop you hit a f key at power up and it goes into a system restore mode. when you do that any of your data will be lost. if there no restore partion check your disk that came with the laptop one should be windows restore cd. if you lost them contact hp for a new set.

If you mean how to clear the existing Windows 7 installation and install a new one, then simply boot up your PC with the Windows 7 disk in it, and follow the instructions on screen. If you do not have a disk,a d have a restore volume on the hard drive, follow the instructions that came with the laptop to return it to 'factory condition' - meaning the OS installation.
