Eyefinity with DisplayPort to HDMI adapter?

I have a XFX Radeon HD 7750 with 1 DVI, 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort connection. Trying to get 3 monitors working - the Eyefinity setup will activate ANY TWO of the monitors, but not all 3 which is very frustrating - anybody have any suggestions? I have the DisplayPort connector plugged into a SIIG "DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter" like this: http://www.siig.com/av-products/cables-and-adapters/displayport-to/hdmi/displayport-to-hdmi-adapter.html

I've read HugoStiglitz "Eyefinity Setup Guide" which specifies that everything goes from DP to DVI but I don't want to shell out another $100 on cables and adapters - frankly this project has already cost me more than I wanted to spend.

Any advice would be very welcome.

  1. Well, I got it working with a DisplayPort to DVI adapter: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0098HVXXY/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

AMD has certainly burned a bridge with me, this was a lot harder to get working than they made it seem in all their "Runs up to six monitors!" advertising for Eyefinity.
