MSI Z87i Mini ITX Won't Boot in Bios with 2 Sticks of RAM

I'm going apeshit here.

-Will boot with 1 stick installed in ANY DIMM! Can swap RAM sticks, both(2x4GB) work individually, tried another set (2x2GB), same story. Both DIMMs populated, NO BOOT. Fan spins up, settles for 2 sec, restarts. Over & Over.

-Had similar problem with previous Asrock H87M-itx board, enabling X.M.P in bios would solve and boot with all 8GB. Doesn't work on new MSI board. Checked bios settings, manually set speed, underclocked, voltage, timings. Nothing.

-Old board blew up while starting game with onboard GPU, small chip popped, sent back for RMA, tested all my components, everything works. Ordered new MSI board.

-Checked grounds, switched stand-offs, nothing. Tried different Power Supply, nothing. Checked CPU socket for bent pins, fine.

-Called tech support, since both DIMMs work individual prolly not motherboard but CPU memory controller. Called a local shop, most likely motherboard and not CPU since it turns on. Comp runs completely fine with just 1 stick, playing all games on Ultra with 7950, why won't it work with all 8GB?

This is one STICKKkyyyy situation here... any thoughts?

Might pull the CPU and check the slot for bent/broken pins, that can cause problems like this....and/or....if you know anyone with a Haswell CPU you can borrow could try a different CPU, because it does sound like either the mobo (good possibility, MSI not not known for good QC - which is why I won't build on them) or the MC (memory controller) in the CPU, which of course can happen, but it's so seldom I tend to doubt that's the problem - guessing mobo

Returned board and ordered new Asrock Z87E, wouldn't boot initially with both sticks again as always, set XMP with 1 stick then both boot just fine.

Running fine with Windows 8.1 now. Strange motherboard defect.

Nope, already updated all drivers and bios. Something was just up with that board.

I tried everything short of using another CPU or 3rd set of RAM on QVL list, however I can't see how that would matter since both sticks of both sets are rated to run together.

Maybe I was a little vague. I solved the problem, it was the motherboard. I'm using my new Asrock Z87E now which works fine with both sticks of RAM installed. Not sure how to close thread and post the final answer.

I have the exact same problem with my ASRock Z87-itx board. For me, I am unable to boot on any power outage until I reset the bios using the pin-button on the outside of the board. Even if I manually restart the computer, sometimes I have to hit the reset pin.

Haswell Core i7-4770k
16mb ram , Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 PC3-12800
NVidia GeForce GTX 560
ASROCK Z87E-ITX Bios version P2.10 from 10/04/2013
1 OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-240G SSD MLC (from 2011)

Please, if anyone knows a solution, email me: djangofan@gmail.com
