I had three internal HDs software RAIDed to RAID-0 via WIN 7 Ultimate. None were my operating system (all were storage). I removed the RAID-0 through Win Disk Management.

The HDs now read "Removable Disks" with no storage space left. When I try to format them Win says I need to insert a disk to format. Tried through Disk Management and command prompt.

Not sure if it's a Windows problem or a BIOS problem (motherboard is an ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3).

Delete the existing partition, create a new on and format that.

Thanks for the reply.

The drives aren't recognized in the upper section of the Disk Management screen and the lower section only gives me the options to change the drive letter and Properties. Left clicking on a drive gives me an option to format, but that doesn't work.

It could be something basic, I have just enough knowledge to be dangerous when it comes to this. :)

Figured it out. Needed to delete the Intel Rapid Storage thingy. Then Windows saw the disks for what they are.
