Hey guys,

Im looking to get a brand new computer and I was wondering if maybe you could help me find a compatible graphics card for my new rig.

These are the specs:-
Spec :-

Case : Galaxy Evolution Tower Case With Switchable Red or Blue Led
Power Supply : 500 Watt With Power Cable Supplied
Motherboard : Asus M5A78L-M USB3
CPU : AMD FX 8350 Eight Core CPU (turbo 4.2Ghz)
Hard Drive : 500gb Sata Hard Drive
Memory : 8gb DDR3 1600mhz Corsair Vengeance Memory
Graphics Card : Onboard Intergrated (DVI / VGA)
Optical Drive : 24x Dual Layer DVD Writer
Warranty : 12 Months Return To Base (Parts & Labour)
Connections : 6 x USB 2.0 / 2 x USB 3.0 / LAN / Sound

Basically I am trying to find a graphics card in the region of £120. I am not bothered if it's new or used, or what website (Ebay etc) I would just like some expertise help is all. So far I have found a GTX 580 for around £125 and I was wondering if you could tell me if it was compatible, or can find one better for around said price.

Anyway, I don't want to blabber on and I want to thank everyone in advance that even tries to help me.

Nathan

A gtx 580 for that price seems alright actually, (provided that if your PSU has a 6 pin and an 8 pin PCI-E connector to power it)
Nvidia's requirement also recommends a 600W PSU which can push 42 amps on the 12v rail

New graphics cards in that price range would be the 7850 and GTX 660 like from this list (and those are only comparable to a GTX 570 or so)

Yep, thats my problem I am not the best at working out compatibility, so if I am honest im not too sure. My guess would be probably not.

The actual rig is here.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AMD-FX-8350-Eight-Core-Fast-Office-Home-Multimedia-Pc-Computer-500GB-8Gb-EVO-/370878048885?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopPCs&hash=item565a0dea75

I was also looking at the 7850, which I can get for roughly £95 and I think the 570 was roughly around £110.

First off, I hope you have not bought this build yet.

What exact PSU model are you looking at? If its a crappy unit, then you need to look again. It would need to be a VERY good 500w PSU to run a GTX580 AND a 8350 FX CPU.
That 760G chipset motherboard you have chosen is a VERY bad choice. The 8 core CPU will throttle hard and not run as it should on that motherboard. You need to be looking at at least a 970 chipset board.

OK you posted the prebuild. DONT BUY IT.

You have no idea if that thing has reliable components. From the little info about the motherboard you do have, you can already see its a poorly built computer.

Build your own computer. What is your FULL budget?

+1

You can try use this site and piece together a build you like

I do like that, but for some reason I am set on the 8350, also I have never built a PC EVER the closest I have come is replacing a graphics card.

Here :

Now I would suggest you may want to drop to the 6300 FX instead and invest 20$ more than your budget on a GTX760, but that is a decision you will have to make.

The fx-6300 is perfect for gaming, plus you can OC with the aftermarket cooler.

Alternative that is a little better balanced for gaming.

I have just found a GTX760 for £161 on Ebay. So that is £30 knocked off of that and I suppose it is possible to get a few other pieces of equipment from Ebay, im pretty sure il change the case haha.

Though like I said I have never built my own PC, is it a difficult task. I know it is possible to accidentally blow the whole thing with static and all that jazz.

It's super easy building a desktop. Ground yourself on something and follow the instructions given with the mobo. All it is is plugging things in to the right places.

Ok fair enough, that graphics card you linked.... The 270X, how is it in comparison to the 660 and 760?

Ok, I guess I need an opinion. I have not fully decided on the graphics card yet, I am stuck between 2, but these are the 2 builds!

The first is http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1Qq69
The GTX 760
and a CiT galaxy Evo Gaming case.

That comes to about £490

The next is
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1Qq69
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Best-Value-VTX3D-AMD-Radeon-R9-270X-1030MHz-2GB-GDDR5-PCI-e-3-0-HDMI-X-Edition-/360768236826?pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item53ff766d1a which is supposed to be the 270X but it looks different.
and the same case.

Thats £473

The final one is
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1Qq69
The same Case
GTX 660

£463

So please if there is anything wrong with the parts ive picked do tell me, also I would like to know your opinion on which one I should get.

(Also can someone tell me what sort of equipment I need for a custom build)
