Suggest me a new motherboard

I am currently using MSI P55-GD65
MSI USA ? Motherboard - P55-GD65

I am planning to upgrade to a more up to date motherboard since my current one doesn't even have USB 3.0 ports.
My current specifications:
Intel Core i7 870 ARK | Intel® Core? i7-870 Processor (8M Cache, 2.93 GHz) (It's pretty high end)
8 GB RAM (might upgrade) (compatibility of at least 32 GB preferred)
In fact I even ordered a USB 3.0 front panel but it needs a 20-pin connector on my motherboard, which doesn't exist, so that's kinda lame.

Even though I am currently using i7, compatibility with Haswell is preferred.
To be honest I don't understand much about motherboards therefore I have listed my current hardware so new version to the same will also be good.
Also any idea how much selling price I can get on my existing motherboard?

Well, if you want to keep the same CPU, you cannot get a motherboard that is compatible with haswell chips. Your CPU uses LGA 1156 socket while haswell uses the newer LGA 1150 and the two are not compatible.

There are LGA 1156 boards that support USB 3.0. But again, you will not be able to swap in a haswell chip on those boards.

And finally, your CPU itself is not capable of supporting more than 16 GB of RAM. So to support 32 GB or more, you will need to get a new CPU.

Thanks for your reply, I had no idea that even my CPU has max 16GB ram limit.
In that case can you recommend me a new motherboard and a CPU? Preferably allowing at least 32 GB ram.

Max 32 GB RAM.

If you want more than 32 GB, then you have to go to LGA 2011 boards, and those CPU+mobo combos are a little over your price range ($550 at least).

I was checking that and found hyper threading is not required for gaming. I play games like GTA IV and many other heavy ones, so you guys if still think hyper threading is not essential I guess I can consider the i5-4670K coz its cheaper.
For mobo, I found both the gryphon and z87 plus almost the same except z87plus is $10 cheaper. It appears that even then it seems a better choice coz it has more ports but the gryphon has some TUF technology. Could you'll suggest which one would be better?
Also I found that I need a cooler for the chip, so since my current chip size is different then the new one, would it be wise to believe that I need a new fan or existing one will work?
Also, would I need new power supply?
Lastly will me NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 work on these new mobos?
Sorry for too many questions
