What are your thoughts?

Using on my FX-8350, I'm going to shoot for 5 ghz someday, when I get the hang of CPU overclocking.

More about : corsair h100i custom loop

custom loop could be better if you know what you are doing. It could be ALOT better.

but then again, if you have a bad chip, you may never reach 5ghz, even if you use LN2

I keep hearing this, but WHY is it better? Temperature wise, doesn't it just come down to the pump, radiator and cpu block you have?

Plus the 5 year warranty, if a custom loop fails, you're one your own.

yes exactly that's exactly why its better.

it is better because you can use a better, bigger, thicker rad, with better, quieter fans, with a better water block, with a better pump. The h100i uses the lowest end parts to achieve its task.

in terms of warranty, yes you are right, nothing can beat that. however, In a custom loop, the only thing that can really fail is the pump, which takes a while if you buy a good once. (this is aside from leaks caused by improper installation)
