Hey guys,

I'm looking into building a new PC for my room which will be mainly used for gaming, video editing and watching movies. My price range is around $1500 - $2000. I've been looking around and have made a list on pcpartpicker.com.
Here is the list I have made at the moment: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/1Quss

I'm having a problem on choosing a monitor. Is 120Hz worthwhile?. Is this too much money to spend on a PC? Can I get the same quality for a cheaper price? Where is a good website/shop I can buy these parts from (I'm from Australia btw)? Please give me some suggestions and feel free to change the list that I've made as there might be other parts that are better.

Thanks :)

EDIT: I've already got an OS, so no need for one.

Can save some on the mobo going to the Extreme 4 from the Rock, also your PSU is way overkill, even if you want some extra and headroom a 750 or 800 Watt can save you some money, will need an OS, monitor depends on you and your budget, for most a 60+ Hz is plety, many hard core gamers want the 120 or 144

That build looks insanely good! Good job sticking to name brand items. You should read this though:
"Corsair Dominator GT 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2000 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Ivy Bridge CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum."

As far as monitors go... Go into a local store. I highly suggest you do this because than you can "see" what you're buying. Monitors are very personal imo.

I wish I could drop that much on a PC, have fun with it!

The 1.5 DRAM rating is an Intel recommendation for the CPU at stock and running 1600 DRAM, higher freq DRAM can require a higher voltage and is perfectly safe, I try and stick to 1.5 for 1866 and below, 2133 and up 1.6 - 1.65 is perfectly acceptable and safe

Oki doki, thanks for you suggestions.

Looks like I'll downgrade my PSU. Is the Extreme4 any good or should I be looking at something a bit better?

Thoughts on the GTX 760?

Thanks for all the info man! Really helpful :)

I've just made a new list of what I think will be pretty good. Check it out

I've saved a bit on my PSU and decided to go with the 4th generation i7.

What do you think?
