Data on flash drive dissapeared once inserted to another computer

I used my flash drive at one of the computers at my college , I wanted to copy one file I was working with. I knew I had other files and folders (about 30MB) already on that flash, but it showed like it was empty. Anyway, I copied the file and at home I found out there was only that one file I copied. However, the computer shows that the 30MB is used and when I use checkdisk cmd it says there are still files and folders on the flash. Can anyone, please help? I had some important files I cant access now. Thanks

Google a free file recovery program and scan the drive, you may be able to recover the data or the data may be corrupt.

Could it be that your original files have been hidden, possibly as a security measure?

If you go to a CMD prompt, what do you see when you type ...

dir x:\ /s /ah

... where x: is the drive letter of your flash drive.
