So I've been using my current computer that I built myself for about half a year now, and its working really well, but I'm currently thinking about buying another RAM stick because I want them to run in dual channel, faster.

I currently have 2x2gb corsair vengeance + 1x4gb corsair vengeance. This is the reason I want to upgrade, I have an uneven amount of sticks. So they don't run in dual channel? How can I get them to run in dual channel. If I buy another 4gb corsair vengeance will it run in dual channel, or do all 4 need to be the same to run in dual channel.

My RAM in currently running in 1333mhz and it has no problems, I am just wondering if it will run in dual channel and be faster if I buy another 4gb stick.

this is my RAM info

One more 4Gb will do the trick but it will have to be a perfect match for the existing stick - sometimes even down to having been made in the same batch if it's a really demanding motherboard. It's better therefore to buy a matched pair and pass your existing 4Gb stick on to a friend or try to sell it here in the Deals sub-Forum.

I'll maybe give the 4gb to my brother he needs it.
So I don't have to switch out all 3 sticks, only the 4gb one and then put another pair?
Thanks for the help!

Always assuming the two 2s are a match there should be no barrier to the dual channel working well. Don't forget also to adjust the way Windows uses the RAM in Control Panel>System>Advanced - that alters the size of pagefile.sys.

EDIT: Thanks for the BA - I only just noticed it. :D
