Hello all. i bought an asrock z77 extreme6 mother board last week. along with it i bought i7 3770K. an 8 GB gskill sni.per ram. OK, now i was trying to remove the socket protector of the mobo but actually i slipped and about 2-3 pins got bent. unknowingly i put the CPU and assembled the system, whats worse, i forgot to put the CPU cooler while 'booting'. it didn't start. the DELL logo came ( dell st 2240 L monitor ) and it read " no VGA output" then i realized i hadn't put on the CPU cooler. i rushed to switch off the system. and i kept my hand on the CPU it was super hot. but it didn't show any sign of melting when i took it out. ( after some time of course ). 1. please help me bent the pins to the right position 2. i want to know whether any damage is happened to any components of my PC. :'( please help i am not a kid, i'm a person with a job in EA. i spent my savings on this PC. i will be in a terrible financial condition ( no food yes that worse ) if i have to buy any costly things again. please help. sorry for bad english.

Normally manufactures won't replace a motherboard with bent pins. As far as your heat goes as long as your processor didn't start smoking you should be fine, just look at all of your solder points around the motherboard and look for any dark spots that look burnt. some of the pins on the motherboard are just grounding, so it might still work. Since I don't work for asrock I can't tell you in depth about their warranty, but what I would do is contact them through email. or call them. I would just say something like I think some of the pins on my motherboard are bent. I wouldn't recommend saying anything about that you think you bent the pins because then your chances of getting a replacement are slim to non.

I tried to look from the side of the mobo to find the correct angle at which the middle pin regions are bent. No success, :/ how much will i have to bent it? will the cpu work if the pins are not at the same level as others?

I see you have a i7 4770K ( normal ), 24 GB of 2666mhz ram ( i'm going to mars :pt1cable: ) and an ASUS board, awesome specs. is there any meaning for me to upgrade to the haswells? I will do Photoshop, video editing, 3d Max, light gaming ( crysis 3, metro etc. :D ) . I might have exaggerated a bit when i said no food if i buy costly things :D
