In the next month I'm going to have to upgrade my current PC and I've been looking online for various components, ultimately ending up with this homebuilt system.

I would very much appreciate a short review or any kind of advice regarding its reliability, compatibility, power consumption, geometric fitting etc.

Test the LIVING CRAP out of that hard drive. I have made many low budget systems from recycled parts, and if there is one issue I have had, it is hard drives. I tried FIVE enterprise grade Seagate hard drives, and all of them turned out to be bad. I have had a Hitachi (my primary drive) have a few sectors fail, and my OS run back to OS heaven, AKA die. I did a re-install, the drive checked out OK, I tried to clone the remaining data off of it and could not because the disk was bad. Just a warning. Other than that, the new Corsair will serve you well. That will be an excellent setup. What did you end up paying?
