Hi!

Nvidia is releasing the 780Ti mid-November (It's confirmed.). So should I just get the Asus GTX 780 DC2OC or should I wait for price drops? Personally I just want to upgrade my GTX 590 and get rid of that overheating and micro-stuttering once and for all. ( I'm getting 100 degrees and heavy stuttering on BF3, Crysis 3 etc. ) I think the Asus card would be a big step up.

Thanks.

i think you should wait for 780ti. by that time R9-290X should release so you should see some price drops for 780.

I'd wait for the price drops if I got cash to spare. Since AMD announced its next series of cards and a new GPU, Nvidia has been trying to steal AMD's thunder through the 780 ti, game techs, bundles, and lower prices.

How long do you think I should wait? I mean I can't wait for too long :)  Thanks for the replies. Btw: Can you make a guess about the price drops. (how much, when etc.)

Well, both the 780 ti and the R9-290x and 290 are announced, so I guess it's only a matter of time when they hit the shelves. Give it around a month. Hmmm. I can't be sure, and other folks still can't be sure. There's speculation that the 290/290X will sell at the sub-$650 price range, which is about $10 (depends on the board manufacturer) lesser than 780 prices. Anyway, the big price drops will happen in AMD's previous series of cards.

I think I'll just buy it since the price drop won't be that big for the nvidia cards. I mean it's nvidia, they don't drop their prices that much anyway. Thanks for the replies guys.

Well, if you really can't wait for the cards and their actual prices to come out, pull the trigger. If you've got more questions to shoot, give 'em, otherwise select a best answer to close this thread.

Actually I think I'll wait for the Ti to come out. Then I'll decide what to do next. Thank you so much. All the replies are much appreciated.

Yeah, the 780 ti looks exciting, and even if you only decide to buy a card then, the price wars are likely to have already begun.
