I have windows 8 pro on a 64gb ssd nad now I have just got my KHX 3K 120gb SSD and when I get around to it I will to a fresh install on that drive. I don't really like the "cloning" idea so that is why I will do the fresh install. My question is how many times can you reinstall windows 8 pro on the same system????? and also someone told me with WIN 8 PRO (OEM) you are able to install it on another system with a different motherboard as long as it was not being used by it's previous PC, is that true????

Solution
Yes, the Windows 8 license does allow you to transfer it to a new PC you own, one time. As for reinstalling using a new SSD, you should have no trouble at all. If by chance it asks you to phone the activation line, it will provide the number and instructions on how to continue activation. It's about a 5-6 minute process.

I hope I don't have to make any calls My cell is disconnected right now until I pay what I owe. I still have the activation product key that came with the disk so maybe the phone is for the win 8 upgrade pack that you download .. I hope

The phone activation line can be used for regular Windows 8 activations as well. I've had to do it before. If this is the first time you will have reinstalled Windows 8 with that key however, chances are pretty good that you won't have to use this option.
