I have an HP pavilion g6 model 1c55nr. I cannot get the RAlink driver to load for wireless. The wireless shows up generically in device manager but I cannot load a driver. If have loaded the hp wireless utilities to start and stop it, and pressing the button does no good either. It was working perfectly before I lost the hard disk and had to reinstall win7. I have tried 3 different versions of the driver from the hp website. The model number on top of the wireless chip is an 8188. There does not seem to be any bios settings that turn the chip on or off either.. I'm at the end of my rope with this.. Any help is appreciated..!

Ok, I was able to fix it myself. Apparently the drivers on the hp website for this specific model are wrong. If you search the hp website for a generic Realtek driver you'll find one that works. I've seen slot of other posts for this issue and I would bet that this would fix those issues as well.
