CPU cooling question

Hey guys, I'm getting an i5 3570k and I need some advice regarding the cooling. My motherboard of choice is GB Z77 UD3H.
I plan to OC (thus the sub-forum), but not very heavily, say 4.2-4.5Ghz (as much as the processor allows with a very slight voltage increase). I have limited funds (otherwise I'd get water cooling), say no more than 70-80$, but I'd prefer to spend less. So, what should I get? Here are some ideas that I have:
1. Noctua NH-D14. This one is pretty expensive, would prefer not to spend so much money if I don't need to.
2. CM HYPER 412 PS.
3. CM HYPER 212 EVO (+ another fan).
4. XIGMATEK GAIA SD1283 (+ another fan). This one throttles less than the 212 EVO, don't know how it fares compared to the rest.

Also, some general questions:
1. What's the best way to go about when it comes to the CPU cooling, one fan on pull and the other one on push or what?
2. How about the coolers with only one fan? Need I buy another one?
3. Are 120mm case fans suitable for the cooling system or do I need a specific one just for that purpose? If so, is it a better idea to buy 2 stand-alone fans for the cooling, seeing as the stock ones are usually not that good?
4. What is the difference between "slim" and normal versions of the coolers? Are the slim versions worse in terms of airflow, cooling capacity, noise generation, etc.? Overall, when does one decide to get a "slim" cooler?

Thanks in advance. :)

I like the Xigmatek better than the CM hyper 212 I do have both, both are excellent budget coolers and my choice would be between those.
1 one fan in push is enough unless you absolutely need those extra couple of degrees the second in pull gives.
2 depends if you think you need it.
3 PWM 4 pin case fans do the trick.
4 not sure what you are meaning by slim version, example will be appreciated.

Maybe it's just CM's way of naming coolers and not a wide-spread convention, but here is an example:
CM Hyper 412 Slim
CM Hyper 412 PWM

Also, thank you for your time, mr1hm and rolli59. :)

P.S. rolli, would you also recommend the Noctua if I decide that I want to spend the cash?

Yes absolutely I would get it before I would consider any of the liquid coolers on the market.

On the SLIM they use extra thin fans 15mm instead of your normal 25mm fans + it looks like it is a little thinner. It is meant for where you have limited space.

I'm guessing everything will fit in a CM HAF-912 Advanced, so I'll probably go with the Noctua (and a low-profile RAM so I don't run into any trouble).

Roomy case should all fit no problem.
