Planning on building my first gaming PC and I'm unsure on what motherboard to pick. This is what I'd like to have in terms of CPU, GPU, RAM etc...

AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core

Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB

Cosair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM

Cosair Builder Series 500W PSU

Cooler Master Elite 400 Midi Tower

and I was going to go with a Asus M5A78-M/USB3 motherboard but i don't know if it will be compatible with my other components.
It would also be great if someone could explain what kind of settings and framerate I could achieve with this build in games such as Battlefield3/4, Crysis 3, Far Cry 3 etc. Thanks.

Thanks for the links, both of them were useful. I think I will use that better motherboard and the fps benchmarks were very helpful. Just wondering what other aspects will i have to spend money on to get my PC to function? I have a monitor and a mouse and keyboard but will i have to buy
-Internet adapter
-Optical drive
- Sound card
-any others?

There is an acceptable quality HD audio onboard so no need for a sound card.
Board comes with lan connection so if you want WiFi then you will need something like this for PCIe X1 slot http://pcpartpicker.com/part/rosewill-wireless-network-card-rnxn250pce or this if you prefer to use PCI slot http://pcpartpicker.com/part/rosewill-wireless-network-card-rnxg300lx
Cheap optical drive http://pcpartpicker.com/part/lite-on-optical-drive-ihas124-04
And 1TB HDD http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezex
