Hi folks,
I am having a problem with my ASUS P7P55D mobo. Suddenly as of yesterday, I get the error "USB Device Over Current Status detected, will shut down in 15 seconds." Then the PC shuts down.
Some time back we broke a USB device in the front panel. I hadn't seen any problems since then, but it's the only thing I can think of that might have caused this.
I tried unplugging all devices but the keyboard and still get the error.
I have done a lot of searching on this forum about this, and there are a bunch of threads about this topic, like this one:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/314200-30-device-current-status-detected-shut-seconds
Following the advice in that thread, I tried to disconnect the USB ports connected to the front panel, but now it just hangs on the BIOS screen. However, I am not at all convinced that I unplugged the correct things. I looked for USB cables that appeared to be coming from the front panel. There were two, and I disconnected them.
Suggestions?
Thanks!
Steve
