I bought a GTX 660 msi frozr 2GB 2 days ago, and when I installed the latest driver for it, when I play BF3 or any high quality game, it crashes after a bit and says ''Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, has recovered." Or sometimes the game just freezes then goes to my desktop and when i try to alt+tab back to the game, it just gives me a blank screen.

Help me please.

My specs:
i5-3790k
8GB ram ddr3
Windows Ultimate 64 bit
Asus Z788 motherboard.

Edit: also when i installed old drivers, it works longer, but then gives me the same thing.

It's properly seated, everything is up to date for other components.

My friend is telling me that it is the software (Windows 7 64 bit) not the video card if the video card is working fine but then crashes.

so you went from what card to the present? and specifically......... what power supply do you have?

did you try disabling physx and did you disable or uninstall the nvidia sound drivers?

you should uninstall the card from add/remove programs and then do a custom install............ only install the graphics driver nothing - else.

So your friend knows how to solve it?
