I'm running SLI titans slightly OC'd. And in games like BF4 and FFXIV im seeing much lower fps than i feel like i should.

my build is:
3930k @ 4.5 ghz
asus rampage IV extreme mobo
x2 GTX Titans in SLI
1000 watt psu
32gbs 2400 g-skill ares ram

Solution
Yeah, then it's almost definitely a driver issue with FFXIV. You can try updating drivers. If you already have the latest ones, then just hope that Nvidia fixes the issue soon (you can also file a bug report with them).

Well first of all is SLI enabled?

And by "lower fps than you feel like you should" what do you mean? What kind of framerates are you seeing?

In the case of bf4, the beta was known to have performance issues with Nvidia cards, especially with the new beta drivers. What driver version are you using?

yes SLI is on. In ffxiv. in a crowded end game area im getting 31 fps. i really feel this should be alot higher. as my friend with a single 680 is getting 46 fps in the same room as me.

It could be a driver problem. Have you checked how much load your GPUs are under while playing the game?

Also do you have any other games to check your framerate? If other games run fine then it is almost certainly a driver issue that is particular to FFXIV.

nothing quite so massive and intensive as xiv. as far as workload goes my gpu's are not under that heavy of a load. temps are reasonable and im not hitting the maximum on my gpu clock either. i loaded up crysis 3 and solid 120fps with no dips.

Splendid
Definately play around with the settings and testing it out with every change, also in BF4 SLI is not available right now.
You could also download a couple of different drivers from Nvidia and see which one works best.
Hopefully ffxiv gets an update soon to address this issue or Nvidia releases a driver with a fix for it.
Since you are getting awesome performance in Crysis 3 without any dips , it appears to be game related.

If your running this on a 1920 x 1080 monitor, that seems like a waste, but still. Nice machine.

I will gladly test* your cards on my 5760 x 1080, in return you may have my 3x 580s as payment.

*cards may/may not be returned

sli works fine for bf4 for me.

FWIW I am only getting 30fps with 4 titans so yea, something fishy/funky is going on with FFXIV. I get 20000 on firestrike but 4000 on ffxiv arr bench @ 4680x2560. I cant pinpoint what or when, but I "was" getting 10-12k whereas I am now getting a 3rd of what I did previously.

Im contemplating trying some really old drivers, that's about the only thing I haven't done (and shouldn't have to do either)
Ive tried bioses, voltages, overclocks, anything you can think of. Its either an issue w/ SLI and ffxiv or a issue with surround displays.

heres to hoping >.<

NM I think I found out whats goingon. Forsome reason FFXIV Benchmark isn't running SLI. I forgot about that indicator in the control panel. Turned it on and it works in everything else, everything that scores normally for my rig anyhow.

FFXIV ARR benchmark however scores 4000 which is about what id expect from 1 card at 4680x2560.

for anyone with problems id first check to make sure if sli is working by doing the aforementioned. As for the solution.. I have no clue yet >.<

negative, full screen but with surround (3 displays) and quad SLI. Works fine on literally everything but ffxiv benchmark (and I assume game). Now if I disable surround and set it to one display SLI works just fine so it is something to do with Surround and FFXIV... finding out what needs to happen and soon :( Id love to actually play sometime this weekend >.<

Turns out the jan 7 drivers enabled SLI which was splendid, however the game still has a ton of issues with SLI and surround which boil down to nvidias drivers and to a lesser degree the outdated API used by ffxiv. Also windows 8 metro hybrid Vsync screws with some games which I think influences what's going on here.

The drivers are setting my cards to non SLI and 2d mode at the opening screen and during all loading screens. Also randomly drops to half my fps in game. If I have Vsync enabled it will drop to 30 fps whenever it sees fit. If I disable Vsync and get 110fps it randomly drops to 50ish.
I'm working with someone at nvidia regarding this but I'm not sure how much attention a small demographic will get being that SLI and surround are the vast minority (not like they used to be which bugs me that they push the tech but don't support it)

Anyhow I just submitted some screenshots of me standing in the same spot not moving and my framerate going from 60-30-60-30 and this is with 4 titans. (Obviously a major issue somewhere)

It can be alleviated by disabling HDR or translucent aa (not sure how they are tied into it) but when it is working properly I get roughly 80-120 fps @ 4680x2560.

I also lock up if I try to enable bezel correction (wasn't the case last driver) and I get the same flashing you guys refer to.

Ultimately if nvidia doesn't fix this, and the dx11 client doesn't fix it... People are going to have a fit.

These aren't emerging technologies and it's certainly not a new game so I'm not sure what the issue is other than getting someone at nvidia to listen.
