Hi, i'm new to PC gaming and buying PC's in general, and im really interested in buying a gaming PC.

I want to buy a PC for skyrim preferably that can run it on ultra settings, with a ton of mods, and have it be future proof if possible, i have NO IDEA where to start. ive been looking over stuff, reading builds and there are so many different ones, my head is hurting looking over them. im looking for a gaming computer that has windows 8. 1028 x 960 or more display and I have a 3,000 budget. I would like to buy it prebuilt but I do not want to be ripped off. Furthermore, I am really concerned with being able to play hardcore games with amazing graphics

Thanks for the help,
Alec

That's not possible. "Prebuilt PC" and "Not ripped off" don't go in one sentence. Tip about TH : We are extremely bias about building your own PC. Prebuilt PCs have terrible motherboards and graphics card and the only PCs that have good ones are expensive ones. I suggest you build a pc for under $2000 and you can get the best settings and parts.

And it won't be future proof either.

You can just add Win8. I dare you to find a PC better than this.

If you want to play hardcore games and future proof* your system without breaking the bank then you really need to think about building your own.

The best way to futureproof your system, in my opinion, is to not break the bank building it. Get the best bang for your buck and then save that extra money for the next time you want an upgrade or new system. Once your cost gets to a certain threshold diminishing returns kick in and you're basically wasting money.

There are not very many hardcore gamers who don't build their own systems.

For around $2000 you could build a wicked system that will breeze through all current games with ease, including the cost of a decent monitor and the OS. This system would also allow you to play games for years to come. If I could access PC partpicker I'd give you an example, but I'm at work and cannot.
