need help with pyramid ps-12kx power supply

what its doing is at rest if i check the voltage at the output end its putting out 10 volts and if i try to put any kind of load on it it goes into protection right away. does anyone out there have any idea what i should start out checking im kinda new to electronics repair so if possible if you tell me what to check also give me the steps to check the part thanks so much.

If that power supply is only outputting 10 V no load when it should be 13.8 then it looks like something is fried.
You will need to open it up and have a look for any signs of over heating.
Check any fuses you find.
Try and identify the regulator circuitry and measure the input and output voltages to this,the output voltage will be your 10V and I would expect the no load input voltage to be in the 14 to 15 volt range.
