So, how muc better is the 7580 than the 7790:
7850: http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-HD7850-DDR5-PCI-E-Graphics/...
7790:http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-HD7790-DDR5-PCI-E-Graphics/...

I ask because, someone earlier said I have to get a 2gb ddr5 otherwise i wont be able to run next gen games. Also is the 7850 worth the extra money?

The 2GB option is preferred to play the more demanding games and for the card to last you awhile. 1GB isn't the best option right now.
Here's a really good side by side comparison and benchmark results in the two cards you are interested in, Have a look and compare the difference for the different games and see what appeals to you more. In my opinion the 7850 2GB would be the better option, the performance difference is worth the cost especially if you are gaming at 1080. Hope this helps.

I would save up and go for the 7850 2gb model, it's the least we'd recommend for "next gen" games, since more games are using more than 1gb of Vram (beginning with BF3)

Okay, but that's confusing me, as I have seen benchmarks of the 7850 on battlefield 3 & 4 and this is the 1gb version which was reaching 60 plus fps. Also when I say I want it to last, I mean 3 to 4 years.

Yes those are average and max frame rates, but when the card runs out of memory it will dip, hence why we recommend 2gb cards, if you want something to last 3 or 4 years I would look at a 7950
