SSD disk for old Dell machine

Hello Hardware masters!

Im going to replace my HDD for my old Dell setup... And im thinking about buying a Samsung 128GB Evo disk.
But will the disk be able to work with my old system?

I have a Dell Inspiron 531:

It won't run at peak speeds , because THE DELL has SATA 2 connections , but will still be a good upgrade.

Yes it will work - it is a sata based system. If you plan to use it for a boot drive, be sure you still have the original o/s key from microsoft/dell as you will want to do a clean install. In a pinch, you can try cloning your existing hdd, but I would not recommend it.

The machine was bought with Windows Vista, and later i bought a Windows 7 key - so im clear on that base
