Hi,

I am currently deciding on a GPU. I plan to have 3 monitors (3x1920x1080). However, the main purpose of the computer is for school work. I will be occasionally doing video editing for school, re-encoding (with Handbrake) and in my spare time I might play some games. These games include NFS Most Wanted (2012), COD Black Ops 2, Watch Dogs, and maybe GTA 5, Far Cry 3 and Battlefield 4.

I was considering a GTX 760.

I'd like this GPU to outperform a PS4 and Xbox One. From a quick google search, the equivalent to an Xbox One would be somewhere between a 7770 and a 7790 and the PS4 between a 7850 and 7870. However, the GPU has to be a Geforce GTX 600 or 700 series (or TITAN).

Thanks for any help =)

GTX 780s retail for $650. Whoever is selling it for $820 is trying to rip people off.

Two 760s would get you a bit past what a single 780 provides, depending on how well the game scales with SLI. Just be aware that even with this solution you would only be able to run at medium or medium-high (not max) settings in order to get 60+ FPS in some games like Watch Dogs and BF4.

Hi,
I was hoping that the computer could be a hackintosh.

Are you planning on doing triple-monitor gaming? If so, you will need something more powerful than a GTX 760. In fact for that a Titan or GTX 780 is pretty much required.

If you are only into single-monitor gaming then GTX 760 will probably do fine. Other options within the general price range of a 760 would be R9 280X ($50 more expensive) or 7970 (older card that has about the same performance as 280X but you can find these for $250 or less).

Yes, I was hoping for triple monitor gaming. A GTX 780 costs $820! Would it be better to have two GTX 760s and upgrade my PSU?
