Hi, im looking to build a new computer. But need some help. As of now, i really want to get a radeon 7870 with the boost, which ive seen on ebay around $190. I would prefer to find combos to save money, primarily on the cpu and mobo. I would really like to have a motherboard that could support crossfire for the 7870 down the road. And also a sufficient power supply.I would like 8gb of ram, but please no fancy cases. I would prefer a quad core to save money if cheaper. Any chance any of you have a computer build suggestion i could purchase around $600-$650 that meet that criteria? If not for the 7870, please give me other good reccomenndations. Ps: only including one 7870 in the budget

Here is something I made up trying to fit with your 600$ limit. I am assuming your price range was INCLUDING the 2 video cards.

It includes some mail in rebates to get it down to the 580$ total.

I went with the GTX 650ti boost for the video cards. Truthfully running crossfire or SLI on a 600 dollar budget is really pushing it and I don't think you will be able to do crossfired 7870's on that budget. Even at 190 dollars on eBay that would be nearly 2/3rds of your budget.

What type of games do you plan on playing with this computer?

Okay that makes it a little easier without having to work 2 cards into things.

This one is at the high end of your scale. After rebates it comes to 666$ (ROCK ON!)
The pros are it has a really nice unlocked quad core i5. You can easily save some money by going with an AMD CPU or a cheaper less overclockable i5.

This second one has a cheaper i3. It's a dual core with hyper threading so it can run 4 threads. Everything else is the same but it drops the price down to 596$ after rebates.
Pros to this one is less money.
Cons would be a hit to performance much sooner in the future than with good i5.

One thing to point out I did not include an OS with any of these. If you don't have a copy of Windows/Linux whatever, you would need to shave 70-100$ off these builds to fit one in at the same price.

Ok, I went with the original, switched it for the 7870, and added some fans and thermal paste...check out the total!!! I want to get that PSU, but would it handle crossfire..or not? if so, I think I'll go with this build, and thank you very much
graft. Also I switched to a 1x8gb stick of ram, for easier future upgrades. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/leyshadowjr/saved/2Cm2
