I know this is a stupid question putting a apu vs a cpu and gpu which are both better but if I get the fx 6300 I wont be able to get the gpu for a month (low budget). anyway is it worth spending the extra money (£40-£50) for the fx 6300 + radeon 7790 ?

Dont buy the CPU now and GPu after a month. Buy the whole setup together to avoid replace/return/rma issues and it sucks to buy components later on. [Personal experience]
