Computer freezing in bios

I built a computer a while back and have had nonstop issues with it. For a while, it worked great on its "side" (motherboard horizontal and flat) but would freeze every time I put the tower to standard vertical orientation.

I checked the ram, gpu, and cpu, none of which had an impact on the issue. It seemed like there was a motherboard issue and I sent it back to Asus for an RMA. Unfortunately, getting it back solved nothing.

At this time i have reseated the cpu, ruled out the ram and gpu, and removed the hdd from the system. Now the system goes directly to bios (no hdd) and when navigating through bios it freezes.

could this be a psu failure? bios issue? motherboard problem not fixed by manufacturer? Im slowly going insane on this one, please help

I just checked the entire output on the PSU and everything was within spec. The 12v was slightly low at 11.6v but within tolerance. Could this be an issue?

on to the next debug i guess

Yes, i received the same motherboard back but no record of them actually doing anything with it. Asus just offered to ship me another motherboard as a replacement, since when i asked them what they did exactly with the RMA they had no answers. So at this point im sending back the motherboard and getting an entire new one. Considering sending the cpu and hdd as well, pretty annoyed by this but at least its still under warranty.
