Will this build run everything on medium for a few years?

I've never been one to stress over games having the best quality graphics but I'm wanting to build a pc that should be capable of running most of the next gen games on medium settings.
I'm looking at getting the 8350 and an R280x. With possible crossfire in the future.
Just trying to see what the pros think of how long it could last me before struggling on new releases. And I know its hard to tell during a generational stride but I'm not looking for anything concrete. Just opinions.
Should also add that I play on a 1680x1050 monitor. Always preferred small screens over large ones for gaming.

Solution
That set-up should do just fine at ultra settings for most games right now at 1080p. I'd expect you to be able to play on High settings for at least the next 2 years at 1080p. Assuming that new games don't decide to take the Crysis approach for graphics of course.
