why does my vegas pro 12 keep on stop working when it gets to "Initializing XDCAM support.." this is when i'm starting it up btw

Saw this note in the release notes:

Installing driver 2.21 for the PDW-UI XDCAM drive can prevent Vegas from starting. Uninstalling the driver or upgrading to version 2.3 will resolve the issue.

BTW, I downloaded and installed the demo for Vegas Pro 12 and the DVD Architect Pro 6.0. Both installed and started without a hitch.

You may want to uninstall Vegas Pro completely and try again, if the driver update noted above doesn't help.

What are the specs for your machine? Also, are you using a Sony camera?

I am out of ideas. This is what I would do next:

1. Uninstall Vegas Pro (and DVD Architect if using it).
2. Use an app like CCleaner (www.piriform.com/ccleaner the free version) to wipe all vestiges of the programs from your registry.
3. Restart the system
4. Go to Sony and download new copies of the programs
5. Attempt to install again.
