Hi, so recently I got a second monitor for free because it would be useful an efficient for me. When i tried to hook it up it didn't connect. Kept saying no input signal. I know the monitor works just fine because I tried plugging it in to the DVI-I (to VGA converter) port on the back of my computer. That worked fine. The other port which it doesn't work on is the DVI-d port. I bought a converter (DVI-d to vga) for it. It can't be the monitor because i tried out my original monitor using the DVI-d port and it didnt work. I am not sure if i am doing something wrong here or maybe the converter is faulty. (I got it for 3$ on Amazon). Need help. Thanks!

Edit: Here is my Graphic Card Specs: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHZ OC 2 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (11199-03-20G)

DVI-D ports do not carry the analog signals used by VGA ports. What kind of converter did you purchase?

That adapter will not allow you to use a VGA connection. Sorry, but that won't do it.

You need something like this that can actually convert the signal to provide the needed analog signals used by VGA.

Could you recommend an adapter that would work?
