Looking for help on cutting prices and upgrading to maximize performance / experience.

Look forward to learning C++/DX or OpenGL and Gaming for fun.

********* Problems *********

I need to keep this thing under 800$ taxes and all (also don't include mail in rebates because who knows when or if I will get that back.)

~~NEED EXPERT ADVISE is this the way to go?~~
I am wondering how if the MOBO I selected is really worth the money and have no idea how to tell,
and I just based this off of recommendations of it working well with my cpu.

Am able to downgrade if it does not affect performance or options. ( IE: I had to downgrade my corsair closed loop cooler to cut -70$ for more budget elsewhere and snagged the evo) Which now I won't hit my 5.0ghz but can be upgraded in the future.

~~ NEED HELP HERE BAD ATM~~
I am faced also with not having a case, my goal was to have a pretty well sealed case with maybe two openings only and use high SP fans to sort of vacuum air in and out from sucking air in bottom forcing out top. If possible some 3.0 usb ports and a nice black look

Went with the GPU just from cost/money atm.

PSU was cheap and needed i think this setup calls for at least 400w but this is so cheap was worth it I think for later upgrades... let me know if I am wrong.

Memory was 10cas which was meh .. I chose single 8gb stick because I do plan on having a full 32GB later down the road once I get into editing/rendering/programming etc...

Although I do like this build and th GPU is almost identical to the one I picked my first run through. (if not the same)

I am really interested in prices NOT including mail in rebates or discounts that may end. I am purchasing this in Feb 2014 so am trying to stay away from offers that may end before too long.

My components must be red or black also ... going for look as well as performance... I will say the gpu could be different if good enough i guess :D. .. ehhh I guess I should stop being so anal....
So I will try a rebuild and post later.

This also needs a case included and thats all ... I will use crappy HHD/optical drives I already have and upgrade later down the road.

Your MOBO also only has 2.0 x16 and not 3.0 ... :\ which would limit your selected GPU correct me if I am wrong

The 7850 is probably only half as powerful as the 7970

RAM needs to be a 2 x4 gig kit to get dual channel

PCI-e 3.0 on a motherboard makes no difference when the actual controller is built in to the processor . But then even if the mb could make that change in real world tests 3.0 makes no difference to performance with any current graphics card

TBC1's build is a much more powerful computer

Thanks for the response, I was UN-aware simply put.

I thought 3.0 made a huge difference and didn't know the controller was built into the CPU.

Hrm my mind is changed now .. will mark as solved thanks guys!
