Hey guys,
I have a Vaio series T laptop and I am not good, yet, with speakers and sound cards. I have only one jack in my laptop and to my understanding there are 3 jacks required for a 5.1 audio system.
I want to buy the Logitech Surround Sound Speakers Z506 but I am not sure if I can use it on my laptop. Can I?
Thanks,
Dark Ariel7

You can connect it however it will only be 2.1 audio. Stereo only.

What do you mean exactly? Why only 2.1? Also would this still be better than a regular 2.1?

You can buy an external sound card that supports 5.1. I would recommend a Creative sound blaster but that is a bit expensive so maybe try looking some up on Newegg or Amazon. You would plug the speakers into that then a usb cable to your laptop then you'll get 5.1 audio.

I have been looking but everything looks pretty pricey. Does anyone know something more affordable. If nothing comes up I will content myself with just enjoying the new speakers as 2.1 speakers.
