Hallo everyone.
I would like to ask, i have builded a new gaming rig and since first of september i have my core i7 3770k oced to 4.5ghz rock stable so far and im curious on how long it will be?
I know that someday it gonna need more voltage to maintain stabilty but how far is that day?
I can underestand every chip is different but there should be an average time right? Like a year or so?
If i am not mistaken my voltage atm is 1.278v with 34 idle temp/75 full load.
So far i have only reached full load while benchmarking.
I use my pc all day gaming etc and the higher temp was 59.
Just saying if temps and voltages may help you answering me.

Tnx :D

keep your temps under 70C-72C and CPU voltages under 1.3v. it's certainly not a guarantee but, it definitely doesn't hurt either :)

Tnx for your reply my friend. I knew about that and looks like i am on the safe side but how long is the average time when cpu starts loosing it stability. I am actualy in love with pcs and that build cost 2100euro,only tower. And i am planning on spending about 500 more. I also feel like that in maximum 3 years im going for new build. I am sick with rigs.

running higher voltages and temps over a elongated period of time is what will begin the degradation process of the CPU, however, too much of one or the other can also have degrading effects on the chip.

i can't really tell you exactly how long it generally takes for degradation to occur except that higher voltages/temps may cause degradation faster.

if your temps and voltages are looking good, i wouldn't worry too much :) .
