Need some advice on this build. My budget is $1000. My main usage will be editing & gaming. I won't be upgrading for a few years time.

Great features, fast enough, tough system, bang-for-buck & compact.

For not OCed gaming only the i5 will beat the FX, but its not a significant difference. The FX handily beats the i5 in editing. Its also cheaper than your build. Let me know what you think or if you have more questions!

1. Do you need a beefy gpu for an editing pc?
2. Between ASRock, Gigabyte & Asus mobo. Which is the most reliable, has tons of features & will last me quite some time?
3. Would the R9 270X be sufficient for a budget gaming pc?

Okay. Last question ( off topic ). What would you, a gaming expert as shown on your status, recommend for a $500 gaming build?

You have to put a big squeeze if you want to do that. Here's the build I put together. It should play games at medium to high settings. The CPU is somewhat weak and you cannot overclock or SLI or anything, but it should be okay. Hope you like it!
