As title says I have experienced internet slow down at least by half. I am not sure what is causing this issue so I came here to ask.
Lately I bought myself a category 5 cable with 10 meter reach and connected it to the rooter which is in my hall to my room. The first week I had a straight 10Mmbs connection and 7Mb/s download speed (torrents, steam) and 3mb/s upload speed. However the cable was going trough the doors and I usually kept them shut. I knew it could damage the cabling so I decided to make a hole in the wall.
Now the cable goes trough the wall right next to sills, trough electricity cables or next to them, under the door and then to my computer. Since I did this I experienced some slow downs. Now I have max 3mb/s download speed and 50mbs connection with 1.74mb/s upload.
I am not sure what could cause this. Maybe the electricity is interfering with the connection, or maybe it is because the cable is damaged while it was going trough the door ? Or is it caused by too many kinks ?
