Hi, guys
My PC is very old, but we don't have money for a new one..
So I wanted to overclock the CPU.
New heatsink?Thermal paste?
How should I do it?Is it any different because it's very old..
My mobo is ASRock K8NF4G-SATA2(I think - it broke once and went in a store to change it idk if they put the same mobo)
AMD Sempron 2800+ 1.61Ghz

Thanks.

I also have a old computer with a nvidia base motherboard and sempron 35000 at 2.3 ghz, thing is with CPU this old even with bios access, I couldn't evenoverclock my CPU there was no CPU overclocking option, so my guess is you can't overclocking because of how old the cpu is.AND ALso to access bios, restart computer and rapidly press either f10 or del or esc

laklmens, you should be able to overclock your cpu. Go into bios, and bump the FSB up +1, reboot, and run prime95 and speedfan, make sure your system is stable and doesn't go over 55C, repeat until you get unstable or it gets too hot. You should be able to get it to 2Ghz. Also, try to keep HT as close to its default value(800 or so) as possible.

Flaggedbacon, your system is likely OEM and thus does not support overclocking. Age of the system does not effect if you can overclock it or not.

I saw my temps and they are going over 50 degrees(no overclock) so I will not overclock it.. Thanks for the answer
