INTEL G45/G43 EXPRESS CHIPSET does not work on my sons MINECRAFT game

I have a 2009 gateway sx2800-01 with INTEL G45/G43 EXPRESS CHIPSET running windows 8.1 and my sons minecraft game does not work because supposedly intel does not work with 8.1. I used intel driver update so I do have the current version. I would like to buy an updated video card so he can play the game. I understand the gateway sx series is slim and the employee at a computer center said there is no video card upgrade because the sx series is too small. I find that hard to believe. I would rather buy an upgraded video card and if need be an upgrade power supply so my son can play minecraft instead of paying $600 buck for a new desktop. thanks

So essentially that IGPU is the GMA 4500, but minecraft should still be playable on that machine. The power supply in that machine is a 220w which I would worry about but this review says it has a PCI-E slot, so I guess you could try install something like a low profile radeon 6570 in that machine which would run minecraft pretty well. And if it doesn't fit too well, take that 56k modem to free some space.
Other very low profile cards to consider could be the 6450 or 5450

thanks. at staples the salesperson said this card would work. I copied the specs from their website. Do you think it will work?
