My motherboard (Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 rev 3.0) makes one single long beep when the system is up and running, and precisely when I'm playing Crysis 3 (maxed out at 720p). It has happened twice since the last three days and happens about an hour after gaming. The system remains completely operational: No shutdowns or reboots.

As for temperatures, I monitor them using AIDA4 and here's how I maintain the temperatures:
MB < 45 deg C
North Bridge < 68 deg C
GPU < 75 deg C
All hard drives < 45 deg C

Here's my configuration:
MB: 970A-DS3 rev 3.0
CPU: AMD FX-8320 @ 4GHz
GPU: XFX Radeon HD7850 2GB DDR5
RAM: 2x Kingston 4GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz
PSU: CM 500W
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

I need to know WHAT triggers this beep.

N.B. Windows Memory Diagnostics say my two memory sticks are okay.

Solution
Try with the DRAM voltage at 1.5, if still no joy, try with a single stick in slot 1, if good, do same with other stick, if both OK there, try in slots 2-4

I just completed the game today. There is no problem since yesterday evening. You sure that it is the memory?
Also, one long beep does not seem to match with any other standard BIOS beep codes...
